Are We Insane?

If you’re paying any attention at all, you understand that the dominant culture–patriarchy, unchecked capitalism, industrial agriculture, big oil & friends, and attitudes of grossly overblown greed, excess, and overconsumption–are killing the planet, and all manner of life that lives here.

That includes human life.

Global warming is approaching critical mass and our government leaders, along with their corporate owners and handlers, have made it abundantly clear that they simply don’t give a shit.

The rainforests are under constant attack in a destructively mad dash of deforestation in order to make room for cash crops like soy and palm oil, and feed-grain for cattle to satisfy the world’s hunger for meat.

The oceans are severely overfished, acidifying, dying.

Marine life is suffocating on plastic.

Everyday, 200 species go extinct. Extinct!

Pardon me if I seem overly disturbed or distressed about all this, but…

WE GOTTA MAKE SOME FUCKING NOISE!!!

Our planet, our only home, is dying.

Democracy is all but dead. 

Our government is far more corrupt than most of us care to look at.

And we, the humans, are collectively complicit in the murder of life as we know it.

And we, the humans, continue to fight with one another, greedy and hateful and bigoted and petty and shameful and completely mad, to the bitter end.

Are we insane?

Why are we so willing to raise our voices and fight against the separation of children from their families, yet seemingly happy to feign ignorance to the FACT that we are creating a (very near) future in which all children will be left without a habitable planet?

Will we ever figure out that we need to come together for the common cause of the continuation of life on earth?

MAKE A BIG NOISE!

Fight for the only home we have!

Anything less is unacceptable.

Just ask your kids!
